I guess I’m not unlike most people in that I like to start the New Year with a bit of inspiration. I gave up making resolutions years ago. When they kept piling up unfulfilled I realised I needed inspiration, not resolution. When you’re inspired, you act, you do, you create, you fulfil.
So I was thrilled to find Seth Godin’s ‘What Matters Now’ document, which is a collection of thoughts from writers, entrepreneurs and business people from around the world. Each was asked to contribute a ‘mini essay’ on what they’ll be thinking and doing in 2010. The result is a collection of perspectives that are truly inspiring. Some more inspiring than others, but I guess that is in the eye of the beholder.
My favourites include Ease, Enrichment, Atoms, Excellence, Empathy, Fascination, Sacrifice, Productivity and I’m Sorry. What are yours?
We started The Conversation back in 2008 as a way to share the news and information we collect for our in-house database. Since then, we’ve got really into sharing our knowledge and have joined Twitter and Facebook for the same purpose. We’re really getting to know our customers and friends better along the way and we want you to be able to talk to us more freely.
So from next month, you’ll find The Conversation on a new platform. We think it will be easier for you to read and will definitely allow you to interact with us if it takes your fancy. We’ll be updating it more often, but you’ll still get a monthly email as a round-up of all the latest news, views and debate on international business.
So you’ll see us again, but with a new look and feel! In the meantime, enjoy this New Year offering.
Kind regards,
Gary Muddyman
